Grand Valley Manufacturing Co. provides precision machining services for demanding nuclear industry applications. With more than 70 years of machining experience, GVM works with large, heavy, and complex components that require accurate machining, controlled processes, and thorough inspection. Our capabilities include CNC machining, turning, deep hole drilling, boring, trepanning, milling, and honing for projects with demanding dimensional requirements.

CNC Machining for Nuclear Components
GVM provides cnc machining for nuclear applications involving large and complex components. Our CNC capabilities support precise milling, 5-axis machining, and mill-turn operations, allowing you to address multiple machining requirements within a single project.
We work with customers based on their component specifications, material requirements, dimensions, and production needs. Our large-part machining capabilities also allow us to handle components that exceed the size range of many conventional machining facilities. This gives you access to CNC production for projects that require substantial work envelopes and machining capacity.
Deep Hole Boring and Drilling Capabilities
For components requiring large or extended internal bores, GVM provides deep hole boring along with deep hole drilling and trepanning. These capabilities support projects that require accurately machined internal diameters across long workpieces.
Our equipment accommodates large components and extended machining lengths, giving you options for projects that require more than standard boring operations. Deep hole services can be combined with other machining processes based on the finished dimensions and specifications of your component.
GVM’s capabilities include deep hole boring for workpieces up to 58 inches in diameter and 64 feet long, along with deep hole drilling and trepanning for large components.
CNC Turning for Nuclear Applications
GVM provides CNC turning for nuclear applications involving large cylindrical and rotational components. Our CNC turning equipment can accommodate parts up to 84 inches in diameter and 67 feet in length.
If your project requires turning alongside drilling, deep hole boring, milling, or other operations, our range of equipment allows us to address multiple requirements through a coordinated machining process. We also offer manual turning for applications where that approach fits the project specifications.

Quality, Inspection, and Nuclear Requirements
Nuclear industry machining requires careful attention to specifications, inspection, and process controls. GVM is ISO 9001 certified and has received approval through numerous customer audits. We are also approved for nuclear valves and use nuclear-approved coolants in our facilities.
Our inspection resources support dimensional verification throughout production. These include CMMs, laser tracking equipment, Faro measurement arms, borescopic inspection equipment, sonic thickness gauges, hardness testers, and precision measurement tools.
